Trip to the past at Krapina
Explore the magic of human evolution at the home of one our early ancestors – the Neanderthal. Just over a century ago, on the site of Hrušnjakovo hill by the town of Krapina, Dragutin Gorjanović Kramberger discovered one of Europe's richest Paleolithic habitats with over 900 remains. The bones have now been reconstructed into the hyper realistic sculptures of Homo sapiens neanderthalensis that is the backbone of the museum and your chance to see what early humans looked like. An educational and fun experience for all generations, the museum is followed by a visit to the museum of peasant uprising in Gornja Stubica, set inside an 18th century castle.
